Below are the unofficial vote counts of the Nov 7 election for 4 seats on NC Supreme Court (4 of 7 seats) and 2 seats on NC Court of Appeals (2 of 15), with winner listed first for each pair of candidates.

Candidates enrolled in the NC public financing program won 5 of 6 races; the only African American running for any of the seats won; women beat men, except for the woman both political parties and all editorial boards renounced as a wacko (Rachel Lea Hunter -- e.g., she wanted to be listed on the ballot as Madame Justice even though she'd never been a judge anywhere).

These are all nonpartisan races, but party affiliation is included below. Both parties spent modest sums of money to promote their slate of candidates (Democrats omitted Hunter) and in the last week, a 527 committee (FairJudges.net) promoted the 4 Supreme Court candidates who won, although experts/pundits should not attribute those victories to that last burst of publicity.
