The
key to making change is taking action. Good ideas are not
enough. When many people take small actions, big things
can result. We get a better sense of our own power as citizens
and we win the incremental changes that can add up over
time. North Carolina is a state where important change often
happens slowly, so we need to be flexible, persistent, and
committed for the long haul.
Democracy
North Carolina has full-time organizers on staff to work
with you and others for pro-democracy change in North Carolina.
We speak to more than 75 groups a year, provide flyers for
distribution about the $3 checkoff for public financing
and other topics, hold meetings in different cities, conduct
training sessions, offer support to local election reform
efforts, and provide a regular flow of information to listserv
participants and Democracy Advocates.
